The Ward

Romania stays on top of infant mortality cases in EU, with a double rate versus the average in Europe. Many of this cases would be easily treated in a developed country but here the lack of modern and performant facilities in the maternity wards of public hospitals as well as the development of pregnancy counselling and support programs leads to these tragedies.
This series depicts the neonatal ward with its intensive care and premature unit of Constanta’s County Hospital, one of the biggest cities in Romania. Unfortunately this is not a remote case, most of the Romanian public hospitals being in similar conditions.
